Again this year, Aultman Health Foundation participated in the 2013 Harvest for Hunger campaign during the months of March and April. With all combined food and financial donations, Aultman is able to provide a total of 199,234 meals for individuals struggling with hunger in the community. Aultman employees collected 13,153 pounds of food, making them the top food donor in the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank’s annual campaign. Aultman also collected a total of $47,068 in monetary donations.

National Cancer Survivors’ Day is an annual event, traditionally held the first Sunday in June, to celebrate people who have survived cancer and encourage patients who are newly diagnosed. The Aultman Cancer Center is marking the occasion by hosting a free Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration Sunday, June 2 from 2-3 p.m.

Aultman Hospital has received the Get With The Guidelines®–Stroke Gold Plus Quality Achievement Award from the American Heart Association. The award recognizes Aultman’s commitment and success in implementing a higher standard of care by ensuring that stroke patients receive treatment according to nationally accepted guidelines.
