September 17, 2012
CANTON, Ohio (Sept. 17, 2012) — The Women’s Board of Aultman Hospital is proud to announce the following executive committee volunteers for its 43rd year of operation:
- President: Denise Hill of Uniontown
- Vice President: Vicky Sterling of Louisville
- Corresponding Secretary: Cindy Webster of Canton
- Recording Secretary: Dawn Stark of Massillon
- Treasurer: Kari Willoughby of Canton
The Women’s Board of Aultman Hospital welcomes Uniontown resident Denise Hill as the new president. She has been a Women’s Board member since 2002. Hill co-chaired the Angel Auction in 2008 and is very passionate about fundraising for Aultman, especially the Women’s Board’s current pledge to the new Aultman Cancer Center. “As we continue working toward our pledge of $5 million for the new cancer center, I am confident in our ability to make a big difference in the lives of many people,” she shared. “Most of us have been touched by cancer either personally or through our families and friends. Those experiences make us dedicated to doing all we can to see the new center open and easing the cancer journey for Aultman Hospital patients.”
She is married to Greg Hill and, together, they own and operate Custom Fireplace Shop in North Canton. Hill is also is a member of the J. R. Coleman Women in History Luncheon Committee and Shared Blessings; is past president of the Stark County chapter of the National Association for the Remodeling Industry (NARI); and represents Custom Fireplace Shop in the North Canton and Canton Regional Chambers of Commerce.
According to Women’s Board Liaison and Volunteer Services Director Debra Neff-Maurer, this dedicated group of ladies leads 300 members to support fundraising for Aultman Health Foundation. “The Women’s Board members donate countless volunteer hours to fundraising activities,” Neff-Maurer said. “Their dedicated support of Aultman has enabled us to improve facilities, offer new services and provide an enhanced level of care for patients and families.”
Since its inception in 1969, the Women's Board has raised more than $20 million to support major projects including the Compassionate Care Center, Pediatric Services and Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences. “I’m honored to lead this group of generous, creative, dynamic women who have done so much in the past 43 years for Aultman Hospital and our community,” Hill said.
The major fundraising event each year is the Angel Auction, a black-tie event featuring more than 400 silent and live auction items. In addition to the Angel Auction, the Women's Board raises funds through the Aultman Hospital Gift Shop, Flower Shop, newborn baby photos, Tribute Fund and fashion show.
