WOW Van to Make Monthly Stop at Aultman Carrollton
October 31, 2012
CANTON, Ohio (Oct. 31, 2012) — Starting Monday, Nov. 12, the Aultman WOW van will be making a monthly stop at Aultman Carrollton. The WOW van provides free health screenings and education to the community.
The Aultman WOW van will be available the second Monday of each month from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Aultman Carrollton, located at 1020 Trump Road. The public is invited to partake in the free health screenings provided by the WOW program. These screenings include blood pressure, BMI (body mass index), weight checks and CO testing.
In addition to the free health education offered by the WOW nurses, participants can also receive a free laminated 11x17” MyPlate placemat. MyPlate is part of the USDA’s new initiative based on 2010 Dietary Guidelines for Americans to help consumers make better food choices. It is designed to remind Americans to eat healthfully using a familiar mealtime image, a place setting. MyPlate illustrates the five food groups that are the building blocks for a healthy diet. The Aultman WOW program is excited about this initiative and ready to educate the community on the benefits of MyPlate. Stop by Aultman Carrollton on Nov. 12 for the first monthly WOW visit to get your MyPlate placemat and receive free health screenings.
Aultman Carrollton is open daily, offering an immediate care center, physical and occupational therapy, sports medicine and fitness services, imaging services and an outpatient lab.
