CANTON, Ohio (May 29, 2014) – June is National Cancer Survivors’ Month, a time to recognize people who have survived cancer and encourage patients who are newly diagnosed. The Aultman Cancer Center is marking the occasion by hosting a free Cancer Survivors’ Day celebration.

The second annual Celebrating Life event is being held Sunday, June 22 from 2-3 p.m. in the Bedford building lobby of Aultman Hospital. “Our goals are to recognize cancer survivors, support patients who are currently fighting cancer and educate members of the community on cancer prevention,” said Denise Rollyson, RN, BSN, Aultman Cancer Center survivorship program coordinator. “We’ll also have a tree planting-ceremony to honor cancer survivors.”

Celebrating Life is open to individuals at any stage of their cancer journey. You do not need to be an Aultman patient to attend. Free parking is available in the parking lot at Sixth Street and Bedford Avenue, across from the Bedford building entrance. Valet parking is also available at the Bedford building entrance for a nominal fee or free for handicapped patients.

For any questions about the Celebrating Life event, contact Denise Rollyson at 330-363-4160 or drollyson@aultman.com.
