The sixth David Magoon Memorial Lecture will be held Thursday, March 27. This annual event celebrates the important role medical education plays in preparing future health care professionals, along with the contributions physician and nurses make as mentors and teachers.
The David Magoon Memorial Lecture is in memory of the third-year Harvard Medical School student and 24-year-old son of Drs. Elbert and Martha Magoon, who passed away in a tragic accident in 2006.
The keynote speaker will be Jose G. Rigau-Perez, M.D., MPH who is a pediatrician, epidemiologist and medical historian. Rigau was a friend of now deceased photographer, Yousuf Karsh, who is known for his photographs of well-known 20th century healers. Honoring Karsh’s work, Rigau-Perez will present “Healers of Our Age - The Portraits by Yousuf Karsh and their Message of Care and Compassion."
Registration is required, and CME/CEU credit is available for health care professionals. Click here to register or donate to the event!
