Staff Report
A foundation established in memory of a child lost to cancer will provide stuffed animals to children undergoing treatment at Aultman Hospital.
An open house in the hospital's Memorial 5 East wing will occur 2-6 p.m. Wednesday. Light refreshments will be served. Small toy donations will be accepted.
Jayani's Army was established by Drs. Ajay and Kimberly Seth in memory of their daughter Jayani Asha Seth.
The toddler died May 30, 2006, after treatment for a malignant brain tumor diagnosed when she was five months old.
"She was the light of our life and taught us so many lessons about family, perseverance, courage and miracles," her parents explained.
"We decided to start a foundation to help other families facing what we went through during her battle with cancer.
"With the help of many, Jayani's Army can help make a difference in our community and to the families who have to deal with the pain and hardship that comes from childhood cancer," they said.
