Aultman Honors Nurses with Annual ‘Points of Caring’ Awards
October 29, 2009 -- A focus on the five points of caring has earned a group of Aultman Health Foundation nurses top honor at a recent hospital awards ceremony. The sixth annual Points of Caring award program recognizes nurses who exemplify caring and compassion toward patients, commitment to the nursing profession, clinical excellence and community involvement.

Project SEARCH Informational Meeting held at Aultman
October 27, 2009 -- Project SEARCH internship positions for young adults with disabilities at Aultman Hospital will begin Jan. 4. All interested individuals and family members are encouraged to attend the Project SEARCH informational meeting on Wed., Nov. 11, 5:30-7 p.m.

Aultman College Students Receive Top Honors At Ohio Nursing Student Convention
October 26, 2009 -- An all-male team of Aultman College nursing students knocked out the defending champs from the University of Toledo, along with teams from 11 other schools, to claim the title for the 2nd Annual Brain Bowl at the Ohio Nursing Students’ Association convention in Dublin, Ohio. The recognition for Aultman College students continued when Louisville resident Katie Denslow, president of the Aultman College Student Nurse Association (ACSNA), was awarded the state Nursing Student of the Year award. 

Aultman College Students Awarded CareStar Scholarships
October 22, 2009 -- Three students from the Aultman College of Nursing and Health Care Sciences were awarded the Josephine Walters CareStar Scholarship to assist them in pursuing their nursing education.  Maria Coy of East Canton, Russell Leonardi of Wooster and Jaclyn Willoughby of New Philadelphia were presented with scholarships by CareStar representatives.

Help Your Football Team Win Annual Blood Battles
October 19, 2009 -- Do something good for the community and help your hometown team win a battle against its high school rival at the Blood Battles held by Aultman Blood Center. All donors are welcome to join a team in Stark and Tuscarawas counties.

Aultman Nurse Earns LifeBanc Honor
October 09, 2009 -- Aultman Hospital’s Robin Rodriguez, RN, BSN, recently received the inaugural Gift of Life Nursing Excellence Award from LifeBanc, Northeast Ohio’s organ and tissue recovery organization. The award is given to recognize and support nursing excellence for those who collaborate with LifeBanc to support families, honor donor wishes and save lives.

Aultman Carrollton Now Offers Mammograms
October 08, 2009 -- Are you due for your annual mammogram? Now there’s no excuse to delay the life-saving screening to detect breast cancer, according to Carrollton’s DiAnne Buck, because of the care now being done locally. Mammograms detect 80-90 percent of breast cancers in women without symptoms and are recommended to be done annually in women 40 and older. Risk for breast cancer increases with age.

Cancer Patients Sought to ‘Look Good…Feel Better’ Oct 13
October 06, 2009 -- Aultman Hospital is encouraging all oncology patients and family members to attend the “Look Good…Feel Better” Open House on Oct. 13, 10 a.m.-2 p.m., for support and advice on managing the effects of therapy.

Stark County Health Officials Plan for Flu Season
October 02, 2009 -- The CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) expects both 2009 H1N1 flu and seasonal flu to cause illness, hospital stays and potentially death for high-risk patients this season. Stark County’s four hospitals and four health departments are working collaboratively to keep our community healthy. Learn what you can do, as well as what the hospitals' new visitation policy is effective Oct. 5.
