Aultman Nurse Earns LifeBanc Honor
Canton, OH (Oct. 9, 2009) – Aultman Hospital’s Robin Rodriguez, RN, BSN, recently received the inaugural Gift of Life Nursing Excellence Award from LifeBanc, Northeast Ohio’s organ and tissue recovery organization. The award is given to recognize and support nursing excellence for those who collaborate with LifeBanc to support families, honor donor wishes and save lives.
Rodriguez, a Perry Twp. resident, was honored on Sept. 11, at LifeBanc’s Organ Donation Summit because of her dedicated commitment to donation, participation in organ donor cases and service as a role model of professional practice as it relates to organ donation.
Through demonstrated leadership of instituting best practices related to organ donation, Rodriguez has been instrumental in saving lives and mentoring new nurses toward donation as part of family centered care in the critical care setting.
“Robin Rodriguez has been an outstanding champion for organ and tissue donation and transplantation, and she has made a difference in the lives of those waiting for a life-saving organ transplant,” said Gordon Bowen, LifeBanc chief executive officer.
