Aultman Honors Nurses with Annual ‘Points of Caring’ Awards

CANTON, Ohio (Oct. 29, 2009) – A focus on the five points of caring has earned a group of Aultman Health Foundation nurses top honor at a recent hospital awards ceremony.

The sixth annual Points of Caring award program recognizes nurses who exemplify caring and compassion toward patients, commitment to the nursing profession, clinical excellence and community involvement.

“Like a star, they truly shine within our organization and inspire others,” said Eileen Good, RN, chief nursing officer. “We are proud they choose to walk our halls and care for our patients.”

Receiving the 2009 Points of Caring award are:

Frances Kessler, RN, BSN, CNP, Aultman Newborn Intensive Care Unit, of Jackson Township
Sara Reich, RN, BSN, Surgery, of Wooster
Jo Richmond, Aultman College of Nursing student, of Jackson Township
Palliative Care Unit Development Team: Julie Cairns of Dellroy; Diane Green and Janine Stinchcomb of Massillon; Marshanna Hanna of Port Washington; Catherine Hatfield of Mogadore; Donna King of Akron; Diana Jones of Minerva; Kerri Mowrer of Dover; Carlene Miller of Canton; Janet Moore of Salem; Tina Parker of Carrollton; Denise Rollyson and Linda Shroades of North Canton, and Amber Vargo of Louisville.

Additionally, in 2006, the organization earned the four-year Magnet designation for nursing excellence from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The prestigious award is shared by just 344 hospitals across the nation and 20 in Ohio.
