Aultman Honors Nurses with Annual ‘Points of Caring’ Awards

CANTON, Ohio (Nov. 29, 2010) – A focus on the five points of caring has earned a group of Aultman Health Foundation nurses top honor at a recent hospital awards ceremony.

The seventh annual Points of Caring award program recognizes nurses who exemplify caring and compassion toward patients, commitment to the nursing profession, clinical excellence and community involvement.

“Like a star, they truly shine within our organization and inspire others,” said Chief Nursing Officer Anne Gunther, RN, MSN, NE-BC. “We are proud they choose to walk our halls and care for our patients.”

Receiving the 2010 Points of Caring award are:

• Linda L. Brunk, RN, CPN Clinical Outreach Coordinator, Wellness on Wheels, Louisville resident
• Emergency Department Clinical Educators Stephanie Mallette, BSN, RN, CEN, Jackson Twp. resident, and Lisa Mittas, BSN, RN, CEN,  North Canton resident
• Adene Keller, RN, ACLC, CVN-1, Cardiac Rehabilitation, Perry Twp. resident
• Elizabeth Good, MSN, MBA, RN, Unit Director, Emergency Department, Jackson Twp. resident
• Stephanie Strader, student, Aultman College of Nursing and Health Sciences, Barberton resident

Additionally, in September, Aultman was granted Magnet recognition again for Excellence in Nursing Services. Given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center, Magnet is the highest recognition and provides consumers with the ultimate benchmark to measure the quality of care that they can expect to receive. Aultman first achieved recognition in 2006 is still the only organization in Stark County named.
