April 20, 2012
CANTON, Ohio (April 20, 2012) -- Dog lovers and their furry friends can enjoy some tail wagging fun on Saturday, May 26 at the Caring Tails on Stark Trails charity dog walk and doggie dress-up contest.
The event will take place at the Exploration Gateway at Sippo Lake Park, located at 5712 12th Street N.W. in Canton. Sponsors for the event include For Paws Blue Cross Animal Hospital in North Canton and Stark Parks. All proceeds will benefit Aultman Grief Services.
From 9 a.m. to noon, walkers – with or without their pets – will enjoy an aesthetic view of the 100-acre Sippo Lake during a one-mile or two-mile charity walk. Dog lovers are encouraged to walk in honor or memory of their furry friends. Registration for the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
The donation for a walker with one dog is $10. Or, you can walk with the whole “litter” for $20. Caring Tails on Stark Trails t-shirts will also be available for a donation of just $5.
The doggie dress-up contest, complete with a “runway” and judges, will begin at 11 a.m. Winners will be chosen in four categories; best dressed dog, owner lookalike, best dog owner interview and best doggie duo. All age groups and species are welcome to enter the contest. Participants are asked to donate an additional $5 entry fee.
