Aultman Offers Summer VolunTeen Program for High School Students
April 25, 2012
CANTON, Ohio (April 25, 2012) – Aultman Hospital is offering an opportunity for high school students to volunteer over the summer months during their school break. Weekday and weekend volunteer opportunities are also available. Students are asked to commit to a minimum of four hours per week to the program. The program will run 10 weeks, and students are assigned to open volunteer positions throughout the hospital. Students will be placed on a first-come, first-served basis. All volunteers must be 15 years of age or older and have completed the ninth grade.
Potential volunteers must first submit a volunteer application, physician’s release, parental and guidance counselor forms to Aultman Volunteer Services. Students will then interview with a member of the Aultman Volunteer Services department and attend one of the mandatory orientation sessions. Only students of the Summer VolunTeen Program will be permitted to volunteer throughout the school calendar year. The deadline to submit applications for the Summer VolunTeen program is Friday, May 11.
Other important dates for the program include mandatory orientation, which will take place both Thursday, May 31 and Tuesday, June 5 from 2 to 3 p.m. Students are required to attend at least one session. The program will begin on Monday, June 11 and end on Friday, Aug. 10. In addition, there will be a VolunTeen Appreciation Party for all VolunTeens on Thursday, Aug. 16.
