Q: Do I have to be a pre-med student to participate in this program?
A: No. We want people interested in any aspect of health care to be involved.
Q: Do I have to attend the symposium in order to have the clinical/shadowing experience?
A: Yes. Participation in the two-day lecture series is required if you wish to participate in the "see for yourself" experiences.
Q: How will this summer learning experience help me determine if health care is right for me?
A: In addition to the valuable insight from speakers at the two-day symposium, the clinical/research experience will provide you with the opportunity to develop a network of faculty, residents and medical students. You may also take advantage of mentoring offered through a variety of experiences including career counseling and self-reflection to help you make an informed decision about your career direction. If desired and appropriate, you may request letters of recommendation from selected faculty at the conclusion of the program.
Q: How much does this program cost?
A: The two-day symposium costs $20 per day, which includes lunch, parking and printed materials.
Q: Where should I park?
A: Parking is available in the Seventh Street parking deck.
Q: Will I receive any documentation of participation?
A: Yes. You will receive a Certificate of Completion at the conclusion of the up-close experience July 31 the closing awards session and presentation.
