Aultman Hospital, founded in 1892, is a 682-bed facility providing service to the five-county region of Stark, Tuscarawas, Holmes, Carroll and Wayne counties. The largest employer in Stark County, with more than 5,000 employees, we are a locally managed, not-for-profit teaching hospital and part of the Aultman Health Foundation.
The hospital's major services include Cancer, Trauma, Heart, Perinatal, Orthopedic and Neurosurgical services. The facilities, services, technology and caliber of physicians at Aultman rival the nation's top metropolitan hospitals. In fact, Aultman has been recognized for the third consecutive year by J.D. Power and Associates for providing hospital patients "An Outstanding Experience." Since 1996, the National Research Corporation (NRC) has named Aultman Stark County's most preferred hospital. In recent years, Aultman received the Ohio Award for Excellence and has been identified as one of the 100 Top Hospitals in the country.
Aultman Hospital is located in Canton, Ohio, which offers ample affordable housing along with a wide variety of cultural, educational and recreational activities. Canton is home to the Pro Football Hall of Fame, Canton Symphony Orchestra, Canton Ballet and the Canton Art Institute. We are located just an hour south of Cleveland, with its world-class orchestra, Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and a variety of other cultural and recreational diversions.
The Aultman campus features a new, state-of-the-art building constructed with a patient-centered, universal room philosophy. This building houses a Level II Trauma Emergency Center including a dedicated children's emergency department, the Aultman Heart Center (including cardiothoracic surgery) and the Aultman Birth Center.
The medical staff at Aultman Hospital numbers 563 active physicians in 43 medical specialties with approximately 95 percent of these physicians being board-certified. They take personal pride and ownership in the teaching that occurs in this institution. More than 150 of our physicians assist in the educational process for residents and medical students.
