Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM)

The Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (LECOM) is one of the fastest growing medical schools in the country. LECOM has campuses in Erie, Pa. and Bradenton, Fla., offering the doctor of osteopathic medicine and doctor of pharmacy degrees. LECOM offers innovative student-centered medical education with courses designed to match the learning styles of medical students. The LECOM Master of Science in Medical Education prepares physician teachers as better medical educators and offers distance learning for residents, physicians and pharmacists.

A Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) is a physician trained and licensed to practice the full scope of medicine in all 50 states. DOs focus on the whole person and consider all facets of a person's life when treating illness, disease and injury. The Doctor of Pharmacy has become a key partner in primary health care and complements LECOM's osteopathic, whole-person medical mission.

LECOM developed the Lake Erie Consortium for Osteopathic Medical Training (LECOMT) to create postgraduate internship and residency programs. LECOMT works to support and to ensure the quality of osteopathic medical education through an alliance of osteopathic training sites and the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine.
