How To Apply



Aultman Hospital and the Canton Medical Education Foundation select all residents through the National Resident Matching Program, with the exception of the Osteopathic Rotating Internship Program - which selects the interns from the National Matching Service.

International Medical Graduates may apply through ERAS via the ECFMG. The residency programs of Aultman Hospital and Canton Medical Education Foundation have certain requirements for IMGs in order to be considered for an interview. Refer to the individual program sites. 

A complete application includes the following:

  • Completed application
  • Personal statement
  • Transcript from medical school
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Dean's letter
  • USMLE or COMLEX board scores
  • Three letters of recommendation

The IMG applications must also include:

  • Valid ECFMG certificate
  • ECFMG scores and reports

All applications for all programs are processed through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS). Paper applications are not accepted.

Diagnostic Radiology Residency Program 
Prospective residents who are invited to interview are expected to make arrangements to visit Canton between October and January in order to receive proper consideration. For further information, please contact Benedict Kim, D.O., Program Director, 330-363-6200.

Family Medicine Allopathic Residency Program 
Questions should be directed to S. David Wakulchik, M.D., Program Director, 330-363-6250.

Family Medicine Osteopathic Residency Program
Questions should be directed to Patricia Matto, D.O., Program Director, 330-363-6250.

Internal Medicine Residency Program
Questions should be directed to Kathleen Senger, M.D., Program Director, 330-363-6220.

OB/GYN Residency Program
The Program Director reviews all completed applications and applicants will be invited for a personal interview. We make every attempt to schedule interviews when convenient for the applicant and to provide housing for out-of-town visitors. During an interview, applicants will have the opportunity to speak to a resident in a more informal setting, such as during dinner away from the hospital. Osteopathic Rotating Internship Program
Questions should be directed to Richard Langsdorf, D.O., Program Director and Director of Medical Education, 330-363-6293.

Transitional Year Residency Program
