Risk factors for developing Type 2 diabetes include:

Age greater than 40

Family history of diabetes

Being overweight

Having had gestational diabetes or giving birth to a baby weighing more than 9 pounds

Leading a sedentary lifestyle

Having high blood pressure and/or high cholesterol levels

Being of African-American, Hispanic American or American Indian descent
Diabetes Risk Factor Screening
The Diabetes Care Center offers a personalized diabetes risk factor assessment at no charge. You will meet with an RN from the Diabetes Program to determine your risk of developing diabetes. Call the Diabetes Care Center at 330-363-5235 to schedule an appointment.
