Happy Tails

Research shows that spending time with a pet can reduce blood pressure, normalize heart rate and improve circulation. Aultman Volunteer Services offers the Happy Tails animal-assisted activity program, enabling dogs and their handlers to visit hospitalized patients.

Happy Tails dogs and handlers go through a rigorous training process. Screenings are held twice yearly to join the Happy Tails volunteer team.

The next handler training course will be held Saturday, Oct. 2 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration is required by Friday, Sept. 17. Evaluations will be held Saturday, Oct. 23 by appointment only.

Additionally an information session will be held Aug. 30, 6 p.m. at Aultman Hospital.
