Chaplain Paul has been on staff in the Aultman Pastoral Care department since November 2001.
He not only ministers at the hospital but is also the chaplain for the Aultman Hospice program. He makes himself available, along with two other volunteer chaplains, for the spiritual care of our hospice patients. When requested, they minister to patients and their families in the various nursing facilities and private homes to patients in the local geographical area. Many times, they are asked to continue to minister by performing the funeral services.
Chaplain Paul is a formerly ordained Catholic priest who studied in Chicago at the Catholic Theological Union and also at St. Joseph Scholasticate, Cedara, Natal Province, Republic of South Africa, where he earned his degree from the Urbaniana Pontifical Institute in Rome, Italy. He has completed a unit of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) at St. Luke's Lutheran Hospital in Milwaukee, Wis. He is a Certified Thanatologist through the Association of Death Education and Counseling (ADEC).
