Led by a team of cardiovascular nurses, exercise physiologists and dieticians, Aultman's cardiac rehab program helps patients learn how to exercise safely, improve their health and maintain an active lifestyle.
Cardiac rehab is covered by health insurance. A physician referral is required to be accepted into the rehab program. Rehabilitation Phases
Phase I: Inpatient at Aultman Hospital
Phase I occurs if you're hospitalized due to a heart attack or cardiac surgery. In addition to the medical/surgical procedures, this please includes general information on heart disease, exercise, nutrition and factors that may have contributed to your condition.
Phase II: Exercise and Education
After you're discharged from Aultman, you'll begin the outpatient portion of cardiac rehab. You'll take part in medically supervised, customized exercise classes to help you on the road to recovery. We'll also provide you with additional information on diet and nutrition, stress management and more. Phase II sessions are led by a team of exercise physiologists, nurses, registered dieticians and psychologists. Phase II classes are offered at Aultman Hospital, Aultman North and Aultman West.
Phase III: Maintenance
In this phase, Aultman offers continued support to help you maintain an active lifestyle and reduce the risk of future complications. Exercise continues in a group setting, and medical supervision is provided.
