Admitting FAQs

Where do I go?
The Admitting Office is located directly behind the Information desk. If you enter at Sixth Street, continue past the Information Desk and turn right at the next hallway. The Admitting Office will be the first door on your right. If you enter at Seventh Street, walk to the second hallway and turn left. The Admitting Office will be the first door on your right. The Admitting Office is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekends and holidays. Outside of these hours, please report to the Emergency Room.

What if I need a wheelchair?
If you need a wheelchair, please use Valet Services at the Seventh Street and Bedford Avenue entrances. Valet Services will provide you with a wheelchair.

What are visiting hours?
Visiting hours will vary based on the type of room and floor your physician requires for you. The nursing staff will explain these to you and your family.

Is there any way to get help with my medical bills?
Yes, we can assist you in several ways. For your benefit, financial counseling is now part of the admitting process. Any questions or concerns you may have can be addressed up front.

Do I need to contact my insurance and let them know that I am in the hospital?
Our Utilization Management department will contact your insurance to verify your benefits and do a pre-certification if necessary. They will also update your insurance daily to give them updates on your care plan if so indicated. Remember that this does not guarantee payment. If you have questions, please contact the Quality Assurance department at 330-363-6382.

Do I need my insurance card?
We will contact your insurance to determine if a co-pay or deductible will apply to your stay. You are encouraged to make your co-pay or deductible at the time of your admission. For your convenience, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and electronic checks.

May I have a private room?
We will do our best to provide you with a private room. However, it may be necessary to put you in a semi-private room if the hospital is full.
