Aultman Hospital Offers Free Summer Learning Opportunities for Students Interested in Healthcare Careers
CANTON, Ohio (April 24, 2024) – For students who are interested in using some of their time this summer to explore healthcare careers, Aultman is offering a free Summer Symposium.
Presented by the Medical Education and Education Development departments, the 13th annual Summer Symposium is available to college students, 2024 high school graduates and high school students who will be seniors in fall 2024. The symposium will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 13, in the Aultman Education Center Amphitheater.
Presenters will include physicians, nurses and administrators who will share their insights on the challenges and opportunities of working in healthcare. The healthcare career fair portion of the day will feature dozens of Aultman services and departments. In addition to the symposium, participants can opt to shadow physicians, nurses or other healthcare professionals during a rotation in July 2024.
The summer program is free to participants and supported in part by a grant from the Canton Regional Area Health Education Center (Canton Regional AHEC), and participants must sign up before the registration deadline of June 6.
To register or learn more, go to aultman.org/SummerSymposium. For questions about the Summer Symposium or for more information on shadowing, please contact Deb Stinnett at 330-363-2319 or Erin Pogue at erin.pogue@aultman.com.
